Spent some time in the shop this weekend {trying to avoid the blasting heat and humidity outside}. Since we don't have a boat but I really wanted to be on the lake or in the water I thought I would make the best of the situation and create some reclaimed barnwood anchors {and a little side table too}. The lake would have been more relaxing and ALOT cooler, but these projects turned out pretty darn cool too!
The oak side table was missing it's door for the bottom, but I think it works just as well with a little basket instead! I refinished the top and added an old pull I had salvaged off a different piece months ago. The light grey is a custom paint mix that I created, I'll ever be able to replicate it because I mixed so many colors together...oh well, it's one-of-a-kind now!
Then there are these darling anchors. Made from chippy old wood scraps from various projects, I've learned to never throw anything away because you never know when a need will arise. {materials are a mix of trim board, door panels, ship lap, barn siding and more} I really love the array of textures and colors!
Oh, and how about the backdrop...old reclaimed bowling alley flooring---gasp! Now I have to determine what to do with that wood too!
Hope you had a great first week of summer...enjoy each day, the summer weeks go by way too fast!
Your reclaimed barnwood anchors are awesome - they caught my eye at the Creative Circle party. Crystal, how did you attach each piece of reclaimed wood?

These are totally awesome! And I have the same question as Marie Blackburn, above. How did you attach them? Did you use a template and cut it out first?
ReplyDeleteYour anchors are very eye-catching. I poked through a bit to see some of your other projects too and saw a lot I liked.
ReplyDeleteI love anything nautical. I have no idea how you made them but they look great! Visiting from Talk of the Town.
ReplyDeleteLove the anchors! I have been having fun with my scraps too! Thanks for linking up to Talk of the Town link party.
ReplyDeleteThe anchors are great. You are right, never throw anything out, you just never know when inspiration will strike.
