Nine Drawer Drexel Dresser

This is, without a doubt, the LARGEST dresser I have had the pleasure of working on since UP has been in business. So much storage in this nine drawer Drexel...you could use it as a dresser or even a buffet/sideboard.

It's finished in Annie Sloan Old Ochre and I used Old White to highlight the filigrees and the molding on the drawers.

Oversized Pair of Captain Chairs

 

 A gorgeous autumn day in Minnesota today, so nice that the mister worked outside all day making some display walls for some upcoming holiday shows. Totally digging how they turned out, I used them for a backdrop for my captain chairs.

 

Before I got started on the project I draped the fabric on the chair and stood back and contemplated what color the chairs needed. I figured I could have gone duck egg, cream or even burgandy but I just couldn't decide. So I did what anyone else would do...I called my mom for a second opinion and she said without a doubt they should be Old Ochre...I agreed!

 

Just to be safe, I put the new fabric on the cushions and took one last look before I broke out the paint brush. I can't tell you how much I adore this fabric. I think I need to go back to the store and buy more!

 

Painted in Annie Sloan Old Ochre and updated and really versatile striped fabric, these twins are ready for some extra seating at your holiday gatherings!

 

The chairs are really large captain chairs, seriously, they're BIG and comfortable!

Darling Blue Vanity

I imagine that when this vanity was new, some young lady was so excited to have it in her room. Probably all giggles and smiles!

Based on the condition that I found it in, it was USED heavily for a number of years. So, I did what I love to do, I rescued this girl from a dark and dumpy barn with plans to make her grand once again!

From frumpy...

to Fabulous!

I painted this piece in AS Duck Egg, I just love the soft blue color! I also lined the drawers for a little bonus and added charm.

 The mirror easily detaches so you can change up the way you use this girl.

 

 I updated the knobs with some vintage glass numbers and they match the adorable glass feet!

   

I used some coordinating fabric to line the drawers for a little special surprise.

 

 With or without the mirror, this is a super sweet piece.

Want a flower that holds its color for a long time? In Minnesota, the sedum blooms in August and last until the first frost for the most part. It's a hardy little bugger and a great flower for cut arrangements too.

Antique Armoire {Old White + Hidden Surprise}

At first glance, this looks like a sweet little shabby chic armoire and then you open the doors and WOW! It's not just adorable on the outside, it's even more beautiful on the inside!

 

 

When I rescued this armoire it had a lot of veneer damage, on both the outside and on the faces of the inside drawers. I knew I could repair the exterior damage and paint it up cute but I really didn't want to paint the inner drawers because they were quite clean and only had damage on the facing panels. So I picked up three coordinating fabrics from the fabric store and used Mod Podge to adhere them to the drawer faces. I'm quite pleased with the outcome and the fact that I was able to keep the wood drawers as original as possible.

Spring Inspired Captain Chair {Old White}

This captain chair went from dark and dingy to a bright springtime inspired beauty!

The chair is finished in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Old White and clear wax. I reupholstered the seat with a sunshine yellow, grey and dark brown fabric.
 

White Distressed Bookcase {Petite}

It's been awhile since I've had any bookcases to spruce up and now I have several waiting to be worked on. They are all uniquely different: some are tall, some are wide, some are lighted, some have glass shelves and some have glass doors. What they all have in common is great bones and character!

This particular one was in great shape just lots of scratches and dings from years of tough love! Great size, clean lines and simple details are what make this piece so lovely. The fresh white ASCP {Annie Sloan Chalk Paint} finish helps highlight her character.
