Three Drawer Night Stand-SOLD

I found this piece at the second hand store, but I thought a fresh coat of paint might bring her to life.

I sanded, painted, and layered a nice heavy coat of dark stain on it...and it was dreadful!! I mean really, it looked worse then when I picked it up! So I thought I'll try to sand it down and start over.  Holy cow, when I started sanding off the dark stain it started looking more distressed, more natural. It was awesome. I topped it off with a coat of furniture wax and 3 new drawer pulls and I love it! Not sure I can ever replicate the technique so it's truly one of a kind!

Traditional Side Table-SOLD

I'm not big on dark mahogany stained furniture so I thought a little white paint and a light distressing would balance this side table out. Super cute!

Don't fret, this wasn't an actual antique table, it was only a reproduction.

The April Sale That Never Was

There were high hopes of a huge April sale, but mother nature would have none of that:( I guess that just means that I will have that many more awesome things ready for the next sale.

Wild Willow Wreath

Despite all the snow we've been having, I was able to get out and gather some gorgeous pussy willows. Last week I made this beauty with some nice willows--it sure helps it feel like spring indoors at least:)

Spring Snowstorm

April 22nd and we are experiencing another spring snowstorm! Is this some sort of sick joke? Nope, it's the real deal. This weather makes it hard to get out to find good junk!

What a ray of sunshine this adorable bench is...bright white and sunshine yellow chevron!

Antique Grey Chest of Drawers

 I've been really bad at remembering to capture before pictures, but I did remember on this one. Be sure to scroll down and check out what this girl looked like just a few weeks ago. 

I painted this dresser in a nice creamy white, hit a few spots to give it a nice light distressing and finished with grey stain and poly. The grey stain gives this piece a gently weathered patina. Complete with the original drawer pulls and wheels, this is a really nice solid and sassy dresser.

Shabby Bookshelf-SOLD

You would never know that this cute bookshelf was literally in pieces when I found it! My handyman(aka Paul) fixed the broken legs, glued, clamped and nailed it back together. It's incredibly sturdy now and looking good with a fresh coat of paint.

 

Hand Painted Weathered Door Panel

This hand painted sign is made from an old weathered door panel out of an early 1900 home. Very cool character, patina and I love the saying too.

I can't wait to do a few more, just need to decide what the next creations are going to say!

Garden Chairs

On this first day of spring, I thought it was necessary to post some cheerful dining chairs!

These garden chairs got a facelift and are cuter then they ever were in their former life. They are painted cream and lightly distressed. I updated the dreadful fabric with a green floral fabric that gives them a fresh feel! Check out the before picture of these chairs below, who in their right mind chose that crazy fabric--yikes!

I have six of these chairs total, they go great with the gateleg table I posted a few months ago (pictured below).

 

 

The chairs pair perfectly with this shabby gateleg table.

Spring Green Floret Fabric

SNEAK PEEK...

I have six of the cutest shabby white garden dining chairs that needed new fabric for their cushions. This new green floret fabric just arrived and I'm just loving it's fun pattern and bright color. I will post the final outcome later this week.

Black Traditional Desk

This is a sturdy, solid wood desk that has lots of storage including a pull out center drawer that houses a keyboard or laptop perfectly. I painted and distressed this desk all around, so it doesn't have to be shoved in a corner or against the wall!
