Vintage Vanity Bench

I had a small amount of this lovely fabric left--just enough for this little vanity bench. I painted this doll in a nice off white, distressed just enough and sealed her with clear wax.

Grey + White Chairs

I just finished up this pair of side chairs. In their former life, these chairs comforted a lot of people at a busy New Ulm, MN restaurant. When I came across them, they were finished in dark stain and brown vinyl seats...YUCK! Now they are off white with a updated grey and cream patterned fabric...a huge improvement from their former days.

Thanks for stopping by, have a super day!

Sweet Antique Side Table {Aubusson)

When I picked up this table, I just fell in love with her beautiful lines and lovely legs.

Updated with a fresh color pallet of ASCP Aubusson Blue, distressed and finished with clear and dark wax.

This table would make a great side, entry, hallway table...super versatile and cute!

Antique Spoon Carved Wash Stand {Natural + Old Ochre}

I had been looking for a cute spoon carved dresser for months... and then one day, when I least expected it, I came a across two! Go figure!

This particular one was so sweet but with all that dark stain you could hardly see the great detailing. As you all know, I don't like painting the entire piece unless it has so much cosmetic damage that I have no other choice. So here again, I did the two tone Paint/Stain combo and I think it turned our adorable!

The piece as painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. First, I gave it a coat of Old Ochre (a warm, darker cream) and then I white washed a coat of Old White. After a liberal distressing, I finished it with clear wax. The top was sanded and stained with a mix of Dark Walnut and Kona, and then sealed with a satin poly.

Here it is before the transformation.

Here are just a few more beauty shots. Be sure to take notice of the amazing drawer pulls...aren't they unreal! So much character on these old pieces:)

Charming Upcycled Desk {Old White}

This old vanity was in pretty rough shape when I rescued it. A very busy life it must have once had. Please disregard the cushion on the top, that is for another PIP {project in process}. I usually have no fewer then 3 projects in the works at once. And really, who am I kidding, the count is probably around 8-10 projects. But nobody is judging right:)

The top was in relatively good condition, just lots of grime...I knew that I would just sand and stain that. But I went back and forth on the body color. Blue. Greige. White. Yes, it needed to be white! Boy did that freshen it up!

Sweet Spring Green Dresser {Antibes}

This dresser looks like it was just rescued it from a barn in the middle of nowhere!  But rest assured it has been cleaned thoroughly and adjusted so that the drawers glide easily.

I wanted the dresser to have a look of a million layers of paint {well maybe not a million, but a lot}. The body is painted in ASCP Antibes and then dry brushed with a mix of Old Ochre and Antibes. And finally I heavily distresssed the entire piece and sealed it with clear and dark wax. The top had several really HEAVY layers of poly on it so I sanded that off to reveal the nice wood grain, gave it a fresh coat of dark walnut and some poly.

Be the reason someone smiles today!

Dip Dyed Bentwood Chairs {Set of Four}

The dip dye look is so popular right now...dipped furniture, baskets, vases, shoes and even hair! Look on Pinterest, shop at Anthropologie or Target, just give it a google...dip dye is everywhere.

I figured I needed to give this technique a try. I had four bentwood chairs in my inventory and thought they would carry the look quite well so cleaned them up and got the paint out.

The body is painted off white: the legs + seats are a soft grey.

So Fresh. So Fun. So For Sale!

The chair is finished in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Old White and clear wax. I reupholstered the seat with a sunshine yellow, grey and dark brown fabric.

Midnight Blue Dresser {ASCP Napoleonic}

A few years ago I picked up this dresser as a birthday present for myself. And yes, it has taken me two whole years to figure out what to do with it. It had all three drawers, but they were falling apart and the wood was splitting everywhere. I tried to save the drawers but everything I did just backfired. So, out with the drawers and in with some shelves.

I painted the entire body in ASCP Napoleonic Blue with dark wax. I stained the shelves and top in a nice rich walnut.

This would be great packed with baskets for storage or maybe even a sweet media/entertainment center.

Dimensions: 40"W x 17"D x 34"H

Antique Sideboard {Graphite Grey}

Let me introduce you to my latest makeover...VICTOR!

We've been calling him Victor for the last few weeks, because as we were cleaning out his dirty drawers (LOL - I couldn't resist!) we found package of mailing labels from Victoria, MN...and so he became Victor.

Vic was in tough shape: a broken leg, lots of loose parts, missing/chipped veneer and years of visible use! But nothing lots of work and plenty of patience couldn't fix.

Victor's body is painted in ASCP Graphite with Napoleonic undertones. Since the quarter sawn oak on the drawers and doors was so beautiful, we just gave them a quick sanding and a coat of Dark Walnut/Kona stain. The painted areas are finished with dark wax and the rest has a top coat of satin poly to give him years of durability.
