I have a confession...I'm a sucker for trunks! I already have several in my house and keep adding more. When you live in a 1950s house that has minimal storage and not a lot of square footage {like I do}, you need to be smart with the pieces you add to the decor. Each piece I add has to be incredibly functional and serve ever changing needs.
So when I came across this nice cedar trunk, it was a no brainer that it had to come home with us! It was a solid and well cared for piece that just needed an updated look to make it attractive again. After a nice coat of dark velvety grey paint, I rubbed and sanded it in all the right places giving it a natural looking patina. Sealed with clear and dark wax, a quick buff and she's looking better then ever!
I think it'll be great as a coffee table, toy box, at the foot of the bed or extra seating in a family room. And don't forget, it can store {or in my case, hide} so much stuff---blankets, toys, sweaters, pillows---the options are endless!
Have a super Thursday--and as always, thanks for looking!
